A Chance to Eat Normally Again
After a comforting stay with our founders the night before being seen by Dr. Yeh, Plaza is back at The Cats’ Cradle, awaiting his surgery. Dr. Jason Yeh, a top veterinary reconstructive surgeon, will be overseeing the procedure to realign blind Plaza’s badly broken jaw. This surgery offers a glimmer of hope for Plaza to lead a more comfortable life, despite the challenges he has faced.
Understanding the Stakes
The surgery, while filled with promise, is not without its risks. Dr. Yeh is optimistic, yet cautious, understanding the delicate balance of potential outcomes. The cost of this surgery is estimated at around NT$40,000—that’s approximately £1,050, US$1,350, €1,250, AU$1,850, or CA$1,700. The final amount could vary depending on the actual complexity of the procedure. But little Plaza is worth every penny.
UPDATE: Dr. Yeh advised us this morning that Plaza will need to stay at the hospital for several days after surgery, where his team can observe the friendly blind moggy around the clock and tend to any complications if necessary—and of course giving this lucky cat the very best post-op care. According to Dr. Yeh, the cost for that will be between NT$12,000 and NT$20,000, so we have adjusted the fundraising target accordingly to ensure Plaza’s full veterinary expenses can be covered. So currently the total required for Plaza is NT$60,000, which is approximately £1495, US$1,900, €1,745, AU$2,895, or CA$2,560.
Your Role in Plaza’s Recovery
Your support can make a tangible difference in Plaza’s life. A donation from you will contribute directly to the costs of his surgery and his ongoing care at The Cats’ Cradle, a beautiful house for rescued felines run by our sister Taiwan charity, ACT for Animals. Every contribution brings us closer to ensuring Plaza receives the best care possible.
>>>But we only have two days to raise the funds!<<<
Safe and Simple Ways to Give
Making a donation for Plaza is straightforward and secure, and you can pay using debit card, credit card, PayPal, Google Pay, or Apple Pay—and in a currency that suits you. Just a few clicks can provide this tough but friendly cat with the crucial surgery he needs at this critical time. None of us would like to have our bottom jaw permanently misaligned at such a large angle. This is Plaza’s chance at a much better and more comfortable life—let’s get him there!
Your generosity is more than just a donation; it’s a beacon of hope for Plaza. As he prepares for his surgery, know that your contribution is part of his journey towards a better life. Stay tuned for updates on his progress, and thank you for being a part of his story.
