Every penny helps these 100 rescued dogs keep their sanctuary

These dogs deserve your kindness

Animal Care Trust (ACT) has been transforming the lives of suffering animals in Taiwan since 1999. Our latest dog sanctuary is The deN—a stunning 3.5-acre site, covered with trees, a river trickling by, nestled in foothills, and overlooking the ocean. The dogs are cared for lovingly by our full-time staff and dedicated volunteers, most of whom come all the way from Taipei City, about 45 minutes away.

Most of the dogs who live here came from extreme suffering, because that’s what ACT does best. A large percentage of them have lost at least one limb to cruel trapping devices that plague the Taiwan countryside. They deserve this beautiful home and a new chance at life.

The problem

Whilst the canine residents at The deN are actually very quiet most of the time, they can get very excited at feeding time or whenever visitors arrive—and that means lost of barking. The staff do a great job of calming the dogs down, but it happens often enough that the nearest neighbours are letting us know we have to find a way to keep the noise down. We have promised the local chief that we will have it greatly reduced very soon.

The solution

EchoBarrier is the best acoustic barrier on the market and can reduce sound energy by up to 99%—we anticipate they will more than half the noise levels our happy dogs produce. They are also lightweight and weatherproof, and they’re made from environmentally friendly, recyclable materials.

We spent many hours researching the best noise barrier for The deN, and this was easily the best tool for the job. So you can imagine how grateful we were to find out that the good people at EchoBarrier are dog lovers themselves and offered us an incredibly good deal to ensure we can afford to save our sanctuary.

EchoBarriers are industrial-standard panels specifically designed to drastically reduce outdoor noise to keep neighbours happy

The kind people at EchoBarrier have given us the very best price possible to help our dogs keep their beautiful new sanctuary home and allowed us to pay on delivery—which happens on June 22nd [UPDATE: delivery date now put back to the 28th]!

Please consider donating today so that these once-suffering stray dogs can keep the peace—and their home.

We can judge the heart of a person by their treatment of animals

ACT rescues hundreds of stray dogs and cats and wild animals from horrific cruelty at the hands of people who know better—around a quarter of our sanctuary dogs have lost at least one limb to cruel trapping devices that are illegal, yet we must keep pushing authorities to stop them. Our teams work tirelessly to catch and identify the perpetrators so that they can finally be put out of business.

We will never give up acting on behalf of the animals who need us—because kindness and compassion are what make the world a better place for us all. It’s a tough battle, but one we can win when good people stand behind us. Wherever you are, you can pledge to take action to improve the lives of suffering animals.
